Congregate at the pub-crawl starting point in

  • The pub is located close to the city center and is a short walk from the central bus station, railway station and the various harbours in Bergen (check map (right) for details).
  • Hashers (with luggage) are recommended to meet at the pub-crawl starting point. Previously we have been permitted to leave luggage at and collect it after the run, as the pub-crawl is an A to A run.
  • Visitors have at previous Killer Hill weekends, had the option to leave their luggage at Bubbles' abode, a D.R.I.F.T.E.R. and sometime BH3 hasher, on Friday morning to do some sightseeing before collecting the luggage again and heading for the pub-crawl. Bubbles' abode is a short walk from the pub-crawl starting point. You could do worse than contact to check out what is planned.

KILLER HILL Pub-crawl starts from

  • The pub-crawl usually takes us to 3++ pubs, where we enjoy some golden brew. Depending on the pub the hare takes us to, a pint of local brew costs . A pint of imported brew is usually slightly more expensive than the local brew.

Bus transport from to the KILLER HILL venue

  • After the pub-crawl, everyone (including luggage) will be transport from to the venue by bus.

KILLER HILL run commences!

  • The bus will drop us off at the start of the run. Previouse Killer Hill runs have lasted anywhere up to 5 hours and included three drink stops and lunch (sandwiches) during the run.

Dinner, beer, more beer and then party 'til you drop, even more beer

  • As tradition decrees, the first Hashers to go to bed on Saturday will lay the hangover run.

  • We eat and drink what is left of the food and beer

  • Please note that there is no organized transport after the hangover run. The best option to get to Bergen Airport would either be by taxi or try to hitch a ride with someone driving past the airport. Anyone going to Bergen by bus should consider catching bus no 524 to Birkelandskrysset and change to a bus heading for Bergen city centre. Otherwise, you could always try to hitch a ride with a local Hasher, or have someone collect you from the venue.

The Venue

The Killer Hill venue is located at , approx by road from Bergen Airport (it is the same venue as the last few years).

The venue has beds which are first and foremost reserved for visitors.

How to get to the venue

Please note that BH3 Hashers who head for the venue on Friday before the pub-crawl, are responsible for their own transport back to town in time for the pub-crawl!

From Bergen Airport (approx 6 km)
According to the local bus company’s web pages, there are no direct bus routes between the airport and the venue. It would probably be much quicker walking to the venue rather than chancing your luck by changing buses umpteen times and getting totally lost in the process!

We recommend that hashers catch the Airport Bus to Bergen (fare: ) and join us at the pub-crawl starting point. However, more adventurous hashers might like to try the local bus service to the city centre: buses (numbers 23, 56 and 57) have been observed outside the terminal building, but travelling to the city centre by one of these buses would be rather challenging and include changing buses at least 2 times, if not more. On the upside, these buses are cheaper than the airport express bus (probably NOK 25 or maybe NOK 34 compared to for the airport express bus). Check the bus company’s map or route planer for more details (both mostly in Norwegian).

However, if anyone plans on going directly to the venue, the easiest way to get there from the airport is by taxi (or car) and the trip should only take 10-15 minutes. Visitors who intend to head directly to the venue from the Airport, are cordially requested to inform the International Hash Secretary of this, so a BH3 Hasher can be present at the venue when you arrive (but probably not before 4 PM), and also to let us know the number of people we need to arrange transport for into Bergen in time for the pub-crawl on Friday.

By bus from Bergen
Your best bet is to catch bus number 51 from the central bus station and alight after approx. 40 minutes at Hjellstadskiftet. It takes approx. 10 minutes to walk to the venue from the bus stop. Check the bus timetables from the local bus company for latest bus connections between Bergen city centre and the venue (most of the web site is in Norwegian).

By car from Bergen (approx 18 km)
You can either:

  • Head toward Lagunen, turn left toward Fana and Krokeide at the first roundabout after Lagunen, drive approx 0.1 km and turn right onto Grimseidvegen, drive approx 1.9 km and turn left onto the local road signposted to Grimseid, drive approx 2.7 km and the venue is on the right hand side of the road


or

  • Head toward Bergen Airport, turn left onto road no 556 toward Hjellestad at the roundabout at Birkelandkrysset, drive approx 3.9 km, turn left toward Aboréet at Milde, drive approx 0.1 km, turn left onto the local road signposted to Grimseid, drive approx 0.9 km and the venue is on the left hand side of the road


or

  • Follow your preferred route to the venue


Walking from Bergen
Yes, it is possible to walk to the venue! One year we had a visitor who walked all the way from the airport to the city centre which is slightly longer than walking from the city centre to the venue. The distance along normal roads (not the motorway) is approx. 20 km and it should take at least 3 hours to complete! Good luck!
