After a dry and warm summer, some rather traditional autumn weather greeted the largest Mjølfjell weekend pack since 2001. Some of the mountains even sported a fresh layer of snow!

It was with some trepidation the pack greeted the returning hare having spent 3-4 hours laying the trail. After a short rest, ON-OUT was called and the pack started searching for the trail which took us past the railway station (no trains anywhere to be seen) then down to and across the river on a rather rickety suspension bridge.

From there the trail headed through the forest in a south-easterly direction and ON-UP the mountainside. After what seemed like a lifetime, the hare decided that the pack should short cut rather than follow the trail up to a summit and back down again. Therefore, a raging river had to be crossed. Most made it by jumping from stone to stone, whilst two decided to wade across ("it is only water").

Having made it safely to the other side, the trail back down into the valley was found and crossed rivers and bogs, before the drink-stop was finally reached. After, as always, an all too short drink-stop, the trail continued down to the road and ON-INN back to the cabin.

The GM decided to do her stand-in RA thing in the circle rather than entrust it to someone else. The hare was given a dead-bug DOWN-DOWN for some or other reason. Due to some serious mis-management, there was no ice available for Mata Hari to celebrate her 500th run on. Instead, she decided to share her assets with the pack, a gesture that was much appreciated.

After the circle, some good booze was enjoyed ('Arnbitter' supplied by Camp Toilet, 'Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky' supplied by Abominator and gin and tonics supplied by the hosts and Deep Throat) before an excellent dinner lovingly prepared by Mata Hari was served.

After the meal, beer and wine was enjoyed before the usual BH3 boisterous after-event-shenanigans started and lasted well into the small hours.
